Our Tayto!

Our Tayto!

Do we need to dose our young Aussie Shepherd with this flea, tick, heartworm med? Any alternatives? I’ve read this breed is sensitive to a lot of drugs.

Combination meds

Many Aussie owners prefer not to do an all-in-one type of treatment. It can be hard on the dogs system. I will 100% do heartworm meds but not the flea and tick. For that I use natural products. It really depends too on the area you are in. We do not have large tick infestations in my part of Ontario. Do some research first before you decide, always a good bet!

Interceptor

After much research for the safest heartwormer for my Aussie, I chose INTERCEPTOR. I have been using it for eleven years.

I do not use any meds for fleas or ticks. But I use a flea comb every day.
