My Australian Shepherd has another little growth behind his ears; it isn't a tumor... feels like "ear tissue"?

Growths Behind Aussie Ears

My puppy has these growths, too. They don't seem to bother her. She's just turned a year old and they've become quite noticeable.

Flaps behind my Aussie's ears

My Aussie has these flaps of furry skin behind his ears too. Is that normal?

Not ear tissue

It’s a bunch of fur tangled together (mat of hair/fur) behind the ears. I just cut it off with scissors. You can look up videos on YouTube to confirm.

Just brush or comb afterwards to prevent it again.

Extra ear flaps

I believe it’s actually ear mats. Happens when they’re not brushed daily. You can google a tutorial, I saw one on YouTube. Hope this helps!

Ear tissue

Our Mini Aussie has these too. They are mot tangled and matted hair. They do not seem to bother her. Would like to know if anyone really knows what these are. Thank you!

Weird Ear Growth

Our 1 year old Aussie has that, too. It's not just matted fur. I also tried looking it up and couldn't find much about it. Glad others have it, though!

Ear Flaps

I just saw these yesterday on my 11 month old Aussie puppy. At first, I thought there was just one but noticed they are on both. I feel better seeing others have it as well. It scared me.

Ear "Flaps"

My Aussie just turned 1 and a couple months ago I found the flaps behind the ears as well. My vet has never heard about them. Thank goodness I didn't cut them. I was about to thinking it was matted hair but noticed it was same spot both sizes. Vet says if they don't bother her it's ok. Very scary.
