Trying to Get Our Dog Another Companion

We just had to put down one of our dogs, Dakota. We got them from the Humane Society 6 years ago when they were both 3 and 4.

We are trying to get Indee a companion. We took her to the Humane Society with us to meet a dog. It was another Aussie Mix, male, 4 years old.

She just raised her lips at him and came and sat next to me. I think she was protecting us from the dog.

Any suggestions on how to have her meet another possible companion?
