What Is My Mini Aussie Mixed With?

by Tiffaney
(Washington)

We got her when she was 3 months old. Was told she was full Miniature Australian Shepherd. We were shown pictures of her parents. One was red and the other red merle.

She is now 9 months old and I am realizing she seems a bit different than most Mini Aussies I have seen. For starters she has a shorter snout and her markings are not consistent with most Aussie's. She has a black snout her face is red, she then has the typical red merle body.

What do you think?

not a breed

"Miniature Australian Shepherd" is not a recognized breed. Breeders produce dogs that look like Aussies but are small by breeding an Australian Shepherd to a different breed of dog which is very small. So your pup is showing the characteristics of whatever other breed was crossed with an Aussie to produce the small size.
