Why Is My Australian Shepherd All of a Sudden Uninterested in Playing Outside?

by Austin

Hello! My Aussie is 2 years old and very active, we play outside and go for runs all the time. We play a lot of frisbee, fetch, and tug of war (she loves ropes).

Over the last few weeks, she has become uninterested in playing in the yard. We will go outside to play like normal, and she just won't chase the frisbee, ball, etc. I try to get her excited about it but it does not work. Every now and then she still plays like normal, but more times than not she has become uninterested.

So then I just take her for a quick run and come back inside, in which she then wants to play with her inside toys. Because of this, I bought her a variety of new toys to play with outside. This helped for a few days, but now it's back to square one and she's become uninterested.

What's strange is that I have taken her to an open field/park over this same time frame and she'll play with her toys and frisbee like nothing was ever wrong. I really don't understand what it is, and I am trying my best to get her to play so she can exercise.

Can I please get some help with this?
