Would It Be a Good Idea to Introduce a New Puppy With My Senior Dog Being Unwell?

We have a 9-year-old Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed in November, 2025 with lung cancer. He is still doing ok but slowing down.

Was wondering, would it be a good idea to introduce a new puppy to the family with my senior being unwell?
